ABOUT THE HER HELMET THURSDAYS PROJECT:
Businesses and organizations participating in HER Helmet Thursdays help HER / Mother Earth by providing discounts on Thursdays for people who bike. A long-term project with no scheduled end-date, HER Helmet Thursdays was launched in 2009 in Monterey County, California as a public service. NOTE: When participating businesses and organizations sign up, they are provided a staff reference sheet. Many have frequent staff changes. Just in case a staff person on duty isn't familiar with this long-term project, it may be helpful to have the listing for that location pulled up on your mobile phone screen (or print a copy of their listing to take along), so you're prepared to kindly show their listing.
Before claiming discount, refer to FAQs and project details, including date restrictions, in "LISTINGS, Map, How to Get the Discounts, and FAQs about HER Helmet Thursdays" at http://www.bikemonterey.org.

ABOUT THIS PARTICIPANT:
Since 1951, Abalonetti has been one of the most popular restaurants on Monterey's historic Fisherman's Wharf! They've won "Best Calamari" from the annual Monterey County Weekly's readers poll for multiple years!

Their menu items include a unique abalone "BLT" and a wide variety of fish and seafood dishes. Meat, pasta, and pizza are offered too. Children's menu and local's menu also.

Outdoor dining on their wind-protected patio allows you to be right at the water's edge.

Indoor dining includes two dining rooms, plus a bar enjoyed by solo diners who appreciate the company of staff and others.

Bike Tips:

Have a pricey bike you'd like to keep an eye on? Walk it down the wharf, and you can park it on the patio at Abalonetti while you enjoy this wonderful restaurant!

Or, just lock up your bike at the top of the wharf. (There are racks to the left as you look down the wharf. If those are full at peak times, it's fine to lock it to the metal railing or another stationery object, out of the way of pedestrians.)

Then, enjoy the short walk down the wharf to Abalonetti, which is on the left-hand side.
